6-Session ACT Therapy Process
My therapy practice offers a focused 6-session program based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), specifically designed for high-functioning individuals who want relief from stress and anxiety and a clearer path to fulfillment. Each session intentionally develops Psychological Flexibility, Self-Compassion, and Mindful Awareness—practical skills to manage pressures at work, reduce anxiety, and strengthen relationships. You don't have to commit to therapy long-term to see meaningful results. Within this structured, short-term approach, We'll focus on gaining the clarity and resilience needed to live with greater ease, purpose, and satisfaction. While ACT is known to have good outcomes, seeing tangible results depends on you.
Session 1: Being Present
We'll start by practicing mindfulness—paying attention purposefully to the present moment. You'll learn how to step out of autopilot, ground yourself, and become more aware of your experiences as they happen.
Session 2: Defusion
In this session, you'll discover ways to detach from overwhelming thoughts. We'll explore how to observe thoughts without letting them dictate your emotions and actions, freeing you from patterns that keep you stuck.
Session 3: Acceptance
You'll learn how to create space for challenging feelings instead of resisting them. This isn’t about tolerating or resigning yourself to difficulty—it's about actively engaging with life, even when discomfort arises.
Session 4: Clarifying Values
Together, we'll clarify what truly matters to you—your core values. Identifying these will help you recognize meaningful paths forward, ensuring your actions align with what's genuinely important to you.
Session 5: Self as Context
In this session, you'll build the ability to view yourself beyond your thoughts, feelings, or experiences. You'll strengthen your connection to the stable, observing self, allowing you greater perspective and emotional resilience.
Session 6: Committed Action
In the final session, you'll translate your insights and values into concrete, manageable steps. You'll leave with a clear plan for taking action, guided by your values, toward a life filled with meaning and purpose.
